Programs and Services

Access to Capital

The Heldring Fund, managed by CMP's lending affiliate, Community Capital Works, Inc., provides loans ranging from $500 to $10,000 to eligible entrepreneurs participating in CMP programs.

Business Skills Training

CMP entrepreneurs attend classes to increase their business skills. Our premier training course is a 15-week, intensive program tat takes participants through a structured curriculum covering a wide array of basic business skills. Entrepreneurs that complete this training are able to clearly articulate their ideas and goals, complete a comprehensive business plan and are ready to take their businesses or business ideas to the next level.

Business Counseling

One-on-one counseling services are tailored to particular business needs and levels of expertise. Business counseling services address short and long-term business challenges, including the development and implementation of business plans and marketing strategies.

Technical Assistance

CMP assists entrepreneurs requiring targeted technical assistance, such as securing business licenses, insurances, and vendors. An on-site business resource center also provides clients with access to technology, such as fax machines and computers, and training on how to use these tools to grow their businesses.

Workshops & Seminars

Throughout the year, CMP organizes business seminars and workshops for entrepreneurs, inviting guest lecturers to share their knowledge and expertise on topics ranging from credit repair to effective time management to government procurement opportunities.

Mentoring

CMP pairs entrepreneurs with retired executives who provide guidance and support. These mentors ar experienced in business development and offer valuable advice on how to successfully grow a business.

Networking Events

Each year, CMP hosts networking events in neighborhood locations, where entrepreneurs and other community members gather to engage in commerce, exchange business cards, and build business relationships. CMP also provides scholarships for selected program participants to attend local business conferences in order to build skills and expand their business networks.
